Is this place dead again?
I had hoped to see a lot of discussion. It may be tough for me to get to know the BTP members if they never visit the forum...haha.
Hopefully this will change soon. As I stated in the past, I would be willing to serve on the National Committee (At Large) if you need volunteers.

It might be interesting to see what would happen if the BTP business posts were separated from the non-BTP business posts. There are 4 possibilities: both would get busier, both would slow down, one or the other would become the clear leader, or nothing would change.
Cross-fertilization might help, that's why I'm here.
While I'm on that subject, there's a new offering for Paulvillians in Dell City, Texas. paulville.org

This site is the official site of the party. Party business is transacted here, and on our two yahoogroups, btpnc and btpnc-talk.
However, nothing prevents us from having more sites from more people promoting the party.
vonu:
I've never been able to figure out groups, and barely can do forums, so I'll have to wait for the next version of m y brain:-)
vonu:
Why does the BTP advocate adopting changes to an internal revenue code that the Supremes has repeatedly said is unconstitutional?
planetaryjim:
It isn't like the IRS has stopped enforcing it just because of a dozen or so Supreme Court decisions.
Andrew Jackson was once told that the Seminole Indians had a valid treaty and he had no authority to send the army to clear them off their land. He did it anyway. His retort was, "Mr. Chief Justice Marshall has rendered his opinion. Now let him enforce it." And this was the guy who vetoed the Second Bank of the United States.
vonu:
IRS agents are just government functionaries ignorant of the law, following a script.
planetaryjim:
Some are, some are evil persons who know full well the things they do are illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral. But, the party's official program cannot readily address functionaries at the level of agents. I think the program from 2006 should not have tried to specify tax policy, but, rather, should have called, as Ron Paul has, for the complete elimination of the personal income tax. But, people don't always see things as I do.
vonu:
Since I largely ignore the MSM, I could have missed it, but did Paul endorse the non-personal part of the income tax? I doubt he supports the BATFE, which is also a title 26 animal.
planetaryjim:
My understanding of his carefully nuanced position is that he wants to eliminate the personal income tax and replace it with nothing. That would force the government to reduce its size and scope. It is brilliant, in my view, compared to Bob Barr's foolish ideas about replacing it with a "revenue neutral" - Barr's words - national sales tax.
I believe in the various things of his I've read that Ron Paul has not called for the end of the corporate income tax as yet. If I'm in error, someone from the Ron Paul camp is welcome to correct me here.
vonu:
It boils down to Paul's reliance on constitutionality.
The Supremes have said in many decisions, in many difference words, that the 16th Amendment did not give Congress the authority to levy a tax.
Seems simple enough to me that that means any new tax, regardless of it's scope.
But I'm just a mailorder paralegal.
Nor have I been part of the "ron Paul camp" since the end of his 1987 ballot access drive.
planetaryjim:
Probably the best exposition on this topic is in Aaron Russo's excellent film "America: Freedom to Fascism" part one.
I guess we'll be a long time seeing a part two.
vonu:
Phil Marsh did a pretty good job of paper documentation within The Pilot Connection Society and The Liberty Foundation. Unfortunately, they were very paranoid of plagarism because they printed the master file they sold in irreproducible blue, which is also very hard to read. I suspect it would be well read by today's scanners but it's all available from the original sources. He didn't develop anything new, just documented what he found.
For some reason, Alex Jones is referring to William Lewis' "Washington: you're fired" as Freedom to Fascism part 2.
planetaryjim:
Seems to be very enthusiastic, but I don't agree with him on quite a few things. He also comes off in the speeches I've seen in person as a demagogue.
planetaryjim:
By the way, I wish to disavow any knowledge of the party program from 2006 prior to this year. I did not, for press of other business, attend the 2006 convention. So the party went and made up a program without me. Which you guys will do in 2010, too, just to have symmetry to the whole thing.

I'd be happy to, if I had them immediately available.
Do a search on lexis for 16th amendment, and they'll probably pop up.
Might even pop up on Google or Yahoo.
If all that fails, I'll dig through the small files I drag around with me.
There were several lawyers in the CLP who would have been happy to help you pro bono when I was there, don't know any anymore.

... should the opinions of Diana Ross and/or Florence Ballard and/or Mary Wilson and/or Betty McGlown and/or Barbara Martin and/or Cindy Birdsong and/or Jean Terrell and/or Lynda Laurence and/or Scherrie Payne and/or Susaye Greene be considered relevant to the Boston Tea Party's policy recommendations?

When I started the Boston Tea Party, I tried to make it clear that I wasn't going to spend the rest of my life jumping up and down trying to make it active. Activity has to come from y'all, and I'm not seeing any.
Back to the old drawing board ...

I'm not so sure that everyone knows the site is back up and running. After the original "spam attack" and the site went down for a while, I just happened to stumble upon the site seeing if it was back online.
Just my 2 cents

Hello,
I too am looking forward to discussion and informative posts that the Boston Tea Party is capable of.
What's the hot topic? Politics? Religion? Brittany Spears (hehehe)?
Michelle
BTW, what's the deal with the pron comments? I thought that would be filtered out. ?

I know there are alot of people out there that feel the same way we do. It's going to take a grass roots effort.
It may be a long time before we have somebody running for a high office, but you have to start somewhere.
We have about 300 million people in this country and this the best we can come up with for presidential candidates? I think we can do better.
What's the hot topic? TAXES, TAXES, TAXES
vonu:
Nancy Reagan had the right idea, just the wrong target, "Just say no" to the taxman. If everyone did it, they'd go away. No thief will hang around where he's not welcome, especially if he insists and we respond with self-defence.
