Dear fellow BTP members,

Now that I've implemented spam filtering and captcha verification, hopefully this site can once again become a thriving discussion venue. Have at!

Arcalian:

Guys, I need to delete my account, thanks.

admin:

... done. Of course, after that, Drupal will attribute your comment to "anonymous," so I'll note her that it was member Arcalian who requested account deletion.

FYI, anyone can delete their own account. Just click on "my account" in the left sidebar, then on the "edit" tab, then press the "delete" button at the bottom of the screen. It will ask you if you're sure.

Best regards,
Tom Knapp

It shows as Arcalian on my screen.

And I do find that button to delete my account. My mother does not find that button, nor could I from looking over her shoulder.

I'm not sure deletion is available to non-admins.

This Is Great! The problem is that nobody knows about it. I only found out by accident when I researched the historical Boston Tea Party on Wikipedia. And then it said this new party is defunct. I hope not. The idea is catchy and great. It hasn't been given a chance. My problem with the Libertarian Party, besides the fact that they had their chance and are now stale, is that they support open borders. To me that's treason. I could never support anyone that advocates open borders. I hope you don't want America to become third world.

SUREFIRE58:

Are there any memebers of this party in Minnesota?

CataclysmicStar:

Hello!
I would first like to say that I StumbledUpon this site and decided, after reading the platform, that I belonged here.
I can only hope that next year will bring us a more reliable president who will do us the huge favor of pulling us out of Iraq immediately. Yes, Saddam was a horrible person and leader and his genocide against his own people was certainly uncalled for. However, we have done little good there, except to kill thousands of not only our own brave men and women, but Iraqi civilians, innocent men, women, and children who likely never wanted to be a part of the violence in the first place.
The current Republican leadership is doing its best to strengthen the government's hold over the American people. We suffer daily as more and more of our rights are stolen away by individuals who, frighteningly enough, believe themselves to be human beings that are exacting God's will upon the United States. The frightening part is that there are many presidential hopefuls who fully intend to follow Bush's lead. They want to stay in Iraq, decline a woman's right to choose, and destroy many of the fundamental platforms on which our nation was founded by its mostly-agnostic creators. They want to deny national health care to families like my own who are currently too poor to afford decent health insurance, they want to discourage young people from attending college and would rather they join the military (and thus head straight to Iraq). Our government functions as Big Brother, staring into our daily lives and taking from us what is rightfully ours. The fact that there is even an argument over the rights of homosexuals to legally marry as a heterosexual couple is asinine; few of these wonderful people are demanding to be given this right in a church. Most just want the same legal rights as other Americans, and they they are being denied this because of their sexual tendencies!
We are in desperate need of a change. There are acts to repeal and human-rights laws that must be passed immediately. Our government is obsessed with helping the poor and desolate in other countries (an honorable cause) but it is only to keep us from seeing the impoverished in our own nation. Too many people live without food and water, shelter and warmth, jobs and educations. We are a nation of leaders, and as such we should lead by treating our own people the way we wish other countries would treat their kin. We need more money to education, to healthcare, we need to lower our insane debt, stop focusing so much on war and slaughtering those that we would be better off befriending.
I hope I find myself welcome here!

Cataclysmic Star,

Of course you're welcome here!

The site is pretty quiet right now, having been down for more than a month and overrun with spam before that (something I'm still fighting to get under control), but it should be a lot more active again in the near future.

Of the things you cite in your comment, I suspect that most BTP members will agree with you on most of them, with the exception of a call for "national health care."

Best regards,
Tom Knapp

I'm looking to become more involved. I would love to serve on the National Committee but doubt that will happen. I'm going to try to focus on getting the ball rolling here in Michigan though. I do feel I can recruit quite a few new members.

Just wanted to say hello to everybody.

I am a small business owner in socialist Minnesota.

Things are not well here in the land of 10,000 lakes. Our state goverment believes that raising taxes is the answer to all there problems. The state of Minnesota is the largest employer within the state with 55k employee's and an annual budget of 55 billion dollars. This year they are projecting a 1 billion dollar defecit. It's obvious the gov't cannot operate as efficiently as a private business. As the rest of the private sector struggles to get ahead, our state is taking on new employee's and offering retirement benefits that far exceed anything you will get in the private sector. The system is truly broken at all levels of goverment.

I want to thank you for having the foresight to start this party. I have been joking with my freinds that I was going to start a new party called "The Boston Tea Party". To my delight you were way ahead of me. It goes withot saying that it will be an uphill battle to advance the cause of this party.

It's time to start taking back our freedom and reducing the size of the goverment.
