Time For Serious Personal Action

How long are we going to just debate what the thinkers among us know needs to be done? I man, what are you ready to do yourself to bring change to what is going on in Washington and elsewhere?

I don't mean violence. There is action short of violence to consider. Like if you don't like what certain politicians or a given political party is doing, what can you do about it yourself?

Run for public office? Nah, I am not that politically minded. Go to a town hall and just holler, or cheer when someone else does? That is not real action. Send emails to members of Congress? I've gotten answers, but likely from staffers, not the member of congress himself (or herself). It might help, but congress members expect that the heat of the moment will soon move on to some other issue, and that voters soon forget. Remembering who is doing what and planning to do something when you can later is a form of action that anyone should be capable of.

Then do it. Either then, or get started on it now. I've been a member of the Demoncratic party for half a century, but today's Demoncratic party is not what it once was, so I just switched over to the Republican Party. And for payback against all the members in Congress that are putting us through this whole matter of Health Care Reform, I have pledged that I will personally vote against every Demoncratic candidate for every office from here on out.

Doesn't sound fair, does it? We have a world a crisis, two wars that we are engaged in, a failed economy that is struggling back, and 9.8% average unemployment with highs in some areas into the double digits. And they want to spend trillions more on Health Care Reform with all that is really wrong now being ignored? No mpore, I say. If they can't get the nation's priorities right, then they can just leave, and I am going to help make that happen. How about you?

Take too long, you say? You have to allow up to six years to go through all the election processes to get them all, and can we last that long? I don't know, but to me this is at least the very minimum that you can do. Oh, and share your views, decisions, and actions with others, which is why I am here. It might help them decide as well.

I.m not reading what everybody else is saying, I am just putting out that I've had too much, and this will work, give it enough time and if enough others decide to do the same thing. To me, the fault of the Demoncratic Party is that is accepted all those liberals and leftists that collectively now run Congress as though America needs to be brought to its knees, and they will do it if they can. Note how they get the mass of poor voters by promising to take from the wealthy and distribute to those that do not have. That is the one flaw with a Demoncratic system, is that all votes count the same, even when placed by those that do not know why they vote for anyone, except the personal appeal involved. This is the generation of American Idol focus and votes, and that does not bode well for ongoing elections or what the future will bring.

Look at Obama. Yeah, you can insist on the title President if you want, but to me, he does not deserve it. He might improve, but his struggle to work out what the nation needs in the face of the disputes in his own party and Congress, and what philosophies he had adopted beforehand from his choice of literature means that he is severely hindered. He has his own little gods that he trusts and has put into positions of importance, and this is just indicative of the fact that he leans heavily towards the committee decision process, not able to trust to his own powers of decision. So far, not the man he needs to be for the jobs at hand, of which there are many. Sure, he speaks very positively and assertively when the platform is his for speaking, but hardly anything he says has any real meaning or evidence behind it. Look at how he keeps shifting his stand as time moves on and things don't just fall into place as he envisioned it and assured us that it would be.

Is Obama a bad man? No, just the wrong man for the job. Can he improve? Actaully, a bit at a time, he might be improving. But the President needs to take stands and make things happen, and he just leaves it to others to solve his problems in discussion, then decides whom to deal with it. And it is not happening, because people who talk well in committees are not the people behind the scenes who are getting it all done. He hasn't learned that yet. And he never learns that, he will never measure up.

Look at the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan right now. Obama wants full approval or proof evident before he will take the step to send more troops over because he does not trust the man he himself picked for the job, or just because he does not want to be faced with anger at home if he goes against those that stand against such actions. So he sits and listens to others for months, hoping to find a better or easier way, and now the militants over there are striking out harshly against both the civilians and the government forces, especially any American troops already there, to try and persuade our government, particularly the President, that our public wants us out of there at any cost. His lack of decision has allowed the militants to build up and strike out to score against us as hard as they can, because they see his hesitation as evidence that he can be brought to a point of essentially withdrawing, but that will mean America will increasingly be at risk here at home. Can he deal with all that? I don't seen any evidence that he can.

If he gets better at his job, that would be nice. In fact, great, because it does the most to protect us here and now, and into the future. But with a Demoncratic controlled Congress doing everything it can just to try and make his pre-election plans go through while ignoring the growing crisis overseas and failings here at home, and a budget debt that could ruin us all, I am more fearful that America will crumble and tumble before there is another Presidential election, or even time to act to turn things around. All this, just because some people thought we ought to show how nonracist we have become by electing a black man to the highest office in the land? Why weren't we all aggressively checking out his real qualifications beforehand? I tried, and I could not find any. So I voted against him, and yet I served some 22 years in the military in integrated military service. I am in no way racist, but I am against those that come through as being bogus and incapable.

I fault the major news channels as much, as they began to show their bias and political bent back during Vietnam, and have only gotten worse. Their attacts on Fox news and commentaries are correct in the sense that on line, Fox makes the point of having the news separated from the opinion section, which uses the news as a basis for the opinions experessed there and on the air. But on the air, the news and opinions almost seem to flow together. But look at the networks of ABC, MSNBC, and CBS just express their opinions and views if it is all fact, and usually bend over to make sure what they show and what you hear only goes along with what they want you to believe. I hardly watch those networks newswise anymore, except to sometimes switch over just to see how they are reporting something that has just happend that Fox News as just reported on. Not a single instance yet where I have found fault with the Fox reporting by comparison.

Note how many newspapers have folded in the last few years? They cannot compete with the free and instant reporting that you get off the internet. No big loss to me, because they also were part of the movement to colorize the public opinion along the lines that their owners and managers wanted. But having a press has been a fundamental part of the American way, but not a press that cannot deal with issues in a frank and impartial way. The news has increasingly become a medium to creating opinions, and in that regard, all these news sources have gone much in the same direction. Only I see it that Fox News is pro-American, and I am not near as sure about the nature of the others. Some of the shift with them began as far back as the rise of the Communist movement here, even earler to the Hitler era, and maybe farther back than that. But what I see is that nowadays, our decreasingly educated audience with its addiction to TV and movies and lack of real study or learning has left us more exposed to what we see or hear, not what we read and work out for ourselves.

Have I said enough yet? One protective mechanism put in place for our benefit was the electoral college, yet increasingly we see where those involved either follow party lines or strive to fit with the public support profile. I could not believe it that some 2/3rds of the members voted for Obama, even in the face of questions about who he was, what he believed, what he would really do (promising Change is not a guarantee of good change), and even real evidence that he was truly a citizen born to this country. With the falling ability for us where it comes to a real voting public to make the necessary distinctions, I think the focus for the future should be on the nature and makeyp of the Electoral College. If it is only going to now mirror the public polls, then just get rid of it.

What would I really like to see in the short term? The formation or growth of one or two new political parties. One would be called the Christian Coallition Party, and the other would be the New Conservative Party. Defectors from either the Demoncratic or Republican parties could group there as they choose, or you could still remain with your present party and participate with either or both anyways. The purpose of both of these parties would be to inform and advise, rather than bring forth candidates and enter the political party process themselves. But there is no real reason that they could not become full political parties in their own right if they so chose, certainly at the national level, but even regionally if that is what the members want.

Nothing against the Boston Tea Party idea, but we don't all drink tea, who is going back in time to participate in something that happened centuries ago, and wasn't that all pretty much just about another tax anyway? Let's go for the heart of this, the party or group which best suits our inner core and beliefs. In my case, parties as I propose would seek the truth and make it available for all, such as really answer questions about a candidates qualifications and knowledge from those that should know as to whether they will really follow through on what they promise. Look at all the great things that some people thought Obama would do for them, and how pathetically little he has followed through on any of it. Yeah, you might argue that he has taken steps (or tried to), but are we now in an era where we can all realize what we camed to hope for from his may pledges and promises? Not from where I sit or stand.

You want to say, add, or contradict this post? Go ahead, it is your right to do so. Sorry, I won't be back for a debate or to read what you offer. I'm not into chit-chat for arugment's sake. I never was, but the endless debate about Global Warming (some related to the older Global Cooling threat) just went on and on. So it's happening, but not exactly in the manner expected, and there is still nothing in the power of man to change it significantly (maybe tweak here and there to slow it down, but not by much). Anyway, politics we can try to act on, but world changing events are beyond our means. The lack of any real concensus on a Global whatever and the non-progress involved just tired me to the point of avoiding debates with those that don't really know anything but have a viewpoint anyway. If I helped you think, fine. If not, then go find some other guy to argue with. That is not what I came here for. I said my piece in case you were looking for something of this nature, and that is all I intend to say or do at this point.

Except vote anti-jackass from now on. Sorry if that bothers you, but the party ruined itself by being too willing to accept any platform as long as it got them more voters and votes. You have to draw the line if you have any sense of standards at all.

hmmm, I'm curious about something; if you don't like or support the BTP, then why did you join?

I'm tired of the "opposition" - that by the way, couldn't have cared less when a member of the other "major party" was in the White House - using the Tea Party name. While I would love to grow this party, I don't want to do so while compromising what the BTP stands for.
