Resignation as co-chair of the Alabama Statesmen/Boston Tea Party Alabama

January12, 2010

Boston Tea Party of Alabama/ Alabama Statesmen

Dear friends, patriots, and fellow statesmen,

In March of 2009, I accepted the nomination for the position of one of three Co-Chair positions within the Boston Tea Party of Alabama, also known as the Alabama Statesmen. I accepted with the intention of helping Darryl with whatever tasks he required while learning the requirements such a position entails. In July of 2009, through no fault of his own and circumstances beyond his control, Darryl thought it best to relinquish his Co-Chair position. I intended, at the time, to take upon myself the responsibilities of being the sole Co-Chair remaining in office.

Ultimately, I think I have failed to fulfill the duties of the office of Co-Chair. It is my intention to resign this position to enable persons more dedicated and with superior qualifications to replace my deficiencies. I do not come to this decision lightly, as it has been weighing upon my mind for some time. Please accept my resignation for the position of Co-Chair of the Alabama Statesmen /Boston Tea Party of Alabama. As my last act before this resignation should take effect, I will call for a special convention, if the bylaws so allow, so that the members may select my successor, and so that there is not lapse in continuity.

The following is not an excuse but merely an explanation of what brought me to the decision above. Despite accepting the responsibilities for Co-Chair, both in March and then again in July, I had, in the meantime, been contemplating misgivings about a conflict of philosophy that had begun to manifest itself, within my mind, over the past several years. Basically, I think, nay, I know that our political system and government are absolutely corrupt. As such, I do not think it is possible to either reform the system from within, nor to elect statesmen for such a reform, given the status quo. I think anyone elected into the current system, even with the best of intentions, will become corrupted.

Because our system of government is corrupt, any participation in the political system is an act of enabling those in power. By participation in this system, because the system is absolutely corrupt, a person is condoning the system itself and approving of those in power, even if not the candidates for which they vote. The only way to oppose this corruption, to achieve reform, and to restore our republic is from outside the political system. Only by boycotting the process will we defeat the corrupt looters (i.e., politicians, bureaucrats, and all beneficiaries of government grift and graft). By boycotting, we apply a vote of “no confidence”; not only to the looters themselves but also to the corrupt system they have created. I say let the swine wallow in the swill they have made for themselves.

Thank you for having voted me to this office and I apologize for not fulfilling your expectations. I wish you all the best in your fights for liberty, may God bless you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan H. Cole
