Time to Say Goodbye
Dear Fellow Members of the Boston Tea Party:
Months after being involved in the BTP and having resigned from my Secretary seat, I've decided that it's time for me to leave the BTP. I stated on here months ago that I would transition my phase-out from the Party. Well, the time has come: my transition is now complete.
I am completing my phase-out of the Party as of today, February 2, 2010. This account will remain inactive until deletion. That or I will attempt to delete the account myself. If that doesn't work, I'll have Doug delete it.
Good luck, everyone. I don't think the BTP will be going anywhere with the Party, but I know you still are clinging onto it with hopes that liberty in this country can be turned around. I'm not optimistic about it, being the realist I am.
I will continue my involvement in the Liberty movement, but only via civil disobedience/passive resistance and education, not via the political realm. I am not convinced politics is the salvation to our problems (as Lew Rockwell once told Bill Moyers on his ill-fated NOW with Bill Moyers show on PBS), so I wish to get out of that. With that in mind, I wish everyone good luck and good fortunes.
Again, I wish everyone good luck. Don't be surprised if you eventually come to realize that I was right about this, but somewhere along the line, people will find their way via persuasion and not via the arm of the state.
I bid you all farewell and a healthy adieu.
Until next we meet...
Yours in Liberty,
Todd Andrew Barnett
Former BTP member

chrysaetos:
It seems to this reader and new BTP participant, Mr. Barnett, that the rationale for your farewell is both ill-conceived and accusatory. There is NO mutual exclusiveness whatever as between the approaches you cite. For my part, I am not optimistic about the solvency of efforts on the part of ANYONE (whether or not committed to those facets of social justice witness which, in your "highmindedness," you now deign to embrace) who is burdened with such negativity. And it is altogether too obvious that your motivation to announce your "enlightened" decision here has far less to do with BTP principles and practices than your own somehow-injured personal sensibilities.
Todd Andrew Barnett:
Mr. Chrysaetos:
My reasons are my own, like them or not. I don't particularly care about what you think. I do things for my own reasons.
Believe what you will and say what you will: I'm glad I've made this decision.
I will respond more later.
Yours in Liberty,
Todd Andrew Barnett
chrysaetos:
I do not particularly CARE about what YOU think, either. However, given that you are OUT, BE OUT!
Moreover, would that it were within my authority, I'd have you banned for deliberate, public undermining of this fine, dedicated group.
(By the way, I am not "Mr. Chrysaetos.")

Todd Andrew Barnett:
"I do not particularly CARE about what YOU think, either."
If you don't "particularly CARE about what [I] think either," then why are you responding to my post? Or do you get off on mental, written, and verbal masturbation?
Keep in mind, Mr. Chrysaetos (I'll call you whatever the hell I want, even the Easter Bunny for all I care!), that you're only speaking for yourself and not for the entire Liberty movement. Don't presume to think that I do or do not speak for the movement because you don't know a damn thing about me. If you have a problem with me personally, it's your issue, not mine.
Keep in mind that I helped co-found this Party, not you. You're just a peon. More to the point, a whelp. The sooner you get that, the better everyone will feel.
"However, given that you are OUT, BE OUT!"
However, given that you can't keep your trap shut, do me a big favor: SHUT THE FUCK UP!
I've been around longer than you have, little man. A lot longer than that peanut for a brain of yours.
And, if I don't get out of here immediately, whatcha gonna do about it, Squiggly? Send me to my bedroom without any supper, even desert?
"Moreover, would that it were within my authority, I'd have you banned for deliberate, public undermining of this fine, dedicated group."
And since you don't have that "authority," Squiggly, there's not a damn thing you can do about it. In fact, I could come back to this Party anytime I damn well please and be a pulsating pimple on your hairy ass. But that would make for an unpleasant view, now wouldn't it?
"Banned for deliberate, public undermining of this fine, dedicated group"? What do you mean by "deliberate, public undermining," Cinnamon Roll? This "fine, dedicated group" was around even before you ventured in here.
As a Venus Project member, you really have some hairy balls to make such baseless assertions about me when you've got nothing to show for it.
Whatcha done for liberty, Fuzz Nuts? Knock up your girlfriend and collect some welfare checks using welfare fraud?
"(By the way, I am not 'Mr. Chrysaetos.')"
I can call you whatever the fuck I want and damn well please, Mr. Potato Head. If I want to call you "Hairy Ass Nuts," I'll call you "Hairy Ass Nuts" for all I care.
If I choose to call you "Mr. Chrysaetos," then I will call you. If you don't like it, stick it up your ass.
Capisce?

How's that for contact information?

By the way, my residency was in neuropsychiatry. But one does not require conversance with DSM-IV to establish your diagnosis. The BTP is well-rid of you. And, had you remained in it, I would have terminated MY participation, STAT. OUT.

And you get to speak for ALL members of the BTP? Really?
I'll believe it until you turn water into wine and walk on water, dude.
And for a little bitch like you to complain, "Oh is this person a BTP co-founder?" is pathetic beyond words. I didn't say I co-founded the BTP; I'm a co-founding member of the BTP, as I did it with Tom Blanton, Michelle Luetge, and Tom Knapp. LONG before you graced yourself (disgracefully, might I add) in this Party.
Cry me a river, Squiggly. You're not getting sympathy votes for this crowd.
*Yawn*

I agree that civil disobedience, passive resistance, and education are the keys to restoring liberty, much more effective than political action. However, this war has many fronts and the political front is one with many battles to be fought that can advance us toward liberty.
I wish you luck in your endeavors, Todd. We appreciate all you have done for the party. Keep in touch!
Todd Andrew Barnett:
Thanks, Doug. I really appreciate it.
Todd
