Purposes
I'm not a white-washed, politically correct diplomat! I'm a layman who speaks what I feel! Right now I have to vent.
The first three words of the Constitution is "We the people" and sets the venue for whom the Constitution was written for and whom it must serve.
It doesn't start with "We the federal government," nor "We the supreme rulers of the people."
When the government becomes more powerful than those who created it, it has become dictorial and serves only itself as a self-appointed supreme entity, much as did Napolion.
I think that "we the people" lost our power when we chose to be members of a political party. It gave the representatives our proxy to do our thinking for us.
If a United Tea Party of America has to be created, it will only join an already broken system, however until a new concensus is recognized it should be so.

I think that the BTP is an exception to the power problem of political parties. Its bottom-up format makes it more like a group of grass roots activists than a party. Its non-exclusive membership and willingness to endorse candidates from other parties makes it more like a caucus or PAC. Its concise, unchanging platform keeps it focused on principles, not power.
