Running for US Senate
Today, I am formally announcing that I plan to run for the US Senate seat up for election from the State of Alabama.
I will be running as a write-in candidate, as the ballot-access requirement in Alabama was too much to attempt to overcome.
You may be asking yourself, "why run as a write-in?". The answer is simple, there is almost no difference between the Republicans and Democrats, and I can actually mention issues that are truly important that wouldn't be discussed otherwise. Also, I estimate that between 1-2% of ballots cast this fall will be write-in votes, so, I'm giving the people a name to write-in.
If elected, I will introduce and sponsor the "Read the Bills Act", "Write the laws Act", as well as other legislation that will reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government.

Since the United States Senator from Alabama is a state-wide race in Alabama, the outfit to endorse your candidacy is the Boston Tea Party's affiliate in Alabama. I am pleased to report that the national committee for the Boston Tea Party has approved the Alabama Statesmen's application to be our state affiliate there, so you are now welcome to approve a US Senate candidate.
With regard to ballot access, please let us know what the requirements are. We have many people with resources and time eager to help out. Perhaps we can overcome the hurdle with your help!

The requirement was somewhere near 60,000 signatures by June 3. The deadline has already passed.

Meanwhile, let's get organized for your write-in candidacy and we can work on ballot access for 2010.
