Midwest Liberty Fest

It would be a good idea for us to set up a table in the exhibition hall for this event. Perhaps our nearby affiliates or some member donations could finance it.

Midwest Liberty Fest
October 9-11, 2009
DuQuoin Fairgrounds, DuQuoin, IL

They are hoping to bring out up to 10,000 people. There is plenty of camping available on the fairgrounds, so it should be an inexpensive trip. I'll post updates when as I get more information. Let me know if you would like to help out in any way or if you are planning to go to the event.

The Government Has a "Dirty Little Secret"

There are many claims about Republicans and Democrats that are false. However, don’t think for one second that I’m defending the Political Duopoly. The claim most often heard is either: “Democrats are ‘Socialists’!” or “Republicans are ‘Nazis’!”. Neither of these claims is acurate, both parties – actually two parts of the same “Ruling Party” – are FASCISTS! Not every member of the Republican or Democratic Party are fascists, there are a few that are freedom loving people, there are even a few avowed Socialists; but the leadership of the Ruling Party is fascists and they know it.

Giving Government Back to the Governed

As many of you know, I am NO stranger to the political arena. I'm a strong advocate for Libertarian principles and ideas. This means I believe that everyone has the right to do as they please without government intervention; so long as they hurt no one. For many years I've toyed with the idea of running for a political office. What would I run for? What would my campaign slogan be? What would I do to win? Eventually though, I lost the desire to run for political office. My desire to run, like that of many others, had become more about winning than about the people.

Welcome to the Police State!

Welcome to the Police State! No, this isn't something that just happened. It didn't happen over night; it's been a long time coming, just like the story of catching wild pigs. In the documentary “America: Freedom to Fascism” Ron Paul says, “You have to get permission from the government for almost *everything*. And if that is the definition of a Police State -- that you can't do anything unless the government gives you permission -- we're well on our way.”

Beware, your right to bear arms may be in jeopardy

Recently the Department of Homeland “Security” issued two startling
“reports” concerning “Right wing extremism”. The first report to be leaked
mentioned supposed “threats” posed by military veterans and those who
support Constitutionally limited government. The second “report” to leak
was titled "Domestic Extremism Lexicon" and supposedly rescinded. However,
a bill (HR 2159) was introduced by Representative Peter King (NY-3) titled
“Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009”.
While this bill “sounds” good, once you realize that YOU could potentially

Tea Party response to President Obama's 100 day Press Conference

I know it's normally only the State of the Union Address that gets an “opposition” reply, but President Obama's 100 day Press Conference deserves a REAL response.

President Obama began by stating that he would throw $1.5 billion at “solving” a flu “problem” that is not near as severe as the “regular flu”. I honestly believe that he will use this “pandemic” as a tool to further push his “universal health care” agenda.
